Assembly BOM Rules

Assembly BOMs can be configured for building assortments or converting child items into parent items. Assembly BOM Rules come into play for the different pieces of the assortments.

For example, if an assortment comprises of 3 large flowers and 5 small flowers two Assembly BOM Rules can be configured for these two requirements and set up against an item's Assembly BOM.

FIELD NAME	FUNCTION
Code	A 20-character code for the Assembly BOM Rule.
Description	The description of the Assembly BOM Rule.
Rule Formula	The logic to apply to Items assigned to the Assembly BOM Rule on an Assembly Order. Options are: Qty. Per - Follows native logic, indicates how many of each Item are used per assembly output created. Percentage - Indicates the Item used is a part of a group that totals to 100% based on the Percentage Multiplier. Some examples are below. Fixed - Indicates the Item used is always the same amount, regardless of how many of the assembly output are created.
Percentage Multiplier	Only editable if the Percentage Rule Formula is selected. Indicates how the amounts should be calculated on an Assembly BOM. For example, if you had an assortment which requires 2 large flowers and there are 8 flowers to select from based on what looks based. The 8 flowers would have a Percentage Rule attached with a Percentage Multiplier of 2 because you want 2 for every 1 assortment built.

Note

Whenever an Assembly BOM Rule is set but not strictly followed users will receive warning messages on Sales Orders and Assembly Orders. Users can turn these of in My Notifications by toggling "Hide Assembly BOM Version Percentage Rule Match match Confirmation" and "Hide Item assigned Rule Code percentage match Confirmation"
