Product Hierarchy

The Product Hierarchy is used to identify Parent and Child Items. Child Items can have multiple parent items; however, Parent Items cannot also be a Child to another Parent Item.

Once a Product Hierarchy has been established and if the Auto Product Parent Conversion option on SilverLeaf Setup is turned on then production planning can be done on the child level and output is converted from the child to the parent.

The Product Hierarchy list can be accessed from the global search:

FIELD NAME	FUNCTION
Parent Item No.	The Parent Item. Child Items can have multiple parents.
Child Item No.	The Child Item for the selected Parent Item.
Parent Item Description	The description of the Parent Item.
Child Item Description	The description of the Child Item.
Default Parent Item	Sets this Parent Item as the default for this child.
